During the afternoon, experts on evangelism will assist the conference in developing the elements of a congregational outreach plan through a live panel discussion.  These elements are plowing, planting, cultivating, and harvesting.  Thoughts on evaluating the outreach plan will also be included.

ARLYN SPREACHER, DCE, serves as Pastoral Assistant and Coordinator of Connecting Ministries at Christ Lutheran Church, Overland Park, KS, and has been a part of a ministry team that has helped the congregation grow, change locations and establish an elementary school.

Rev. Dennis FitzPatrick , Associate Pastor at Trinity Lutheran Church, Atchison, KS, is very passionate about outreach through mission and ministry.  Trinity has grown into a large congregation and is known as a congregation that reaches out to its community.

 

Evaluating - How are We Doing?

Susan Roberts is the Director of Christian Outreach at Christ Lutheran Church and School, Murray, Utah, the Director of Sudanese Ministry at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Salt Lake City, the Executive Director of Utah Lutheran Mission Outreach, and a member of the Rocky Mountain District’s Evangelism Committee. She holds a Master of Arts in Christian Outreach degree from the Oswald Hoffmann School of Christian Outreach, Concordia University, St. Paul, MN. Demonstrating a heart for brining all into the family of Christ, Susan’s role as a DCO is to be an advocate for the non-Christian and unchurched through assessing outreach opportunities and equipping, educating, mobilizing, and supporting congregation members in witnessing, evangelism, missions, and the assimilation of new church members

SANDY WENDELIN , DCE, has served at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Lakewood, CO, since 1983, currently as Director of Assimilation and Small Groups, concentrating on the area of discipleship development, and supporting and equipping members for ministry within their circle of influence.
